IT’S TIME TO ACT NOW

Five Rivers Rising is the name of XR Sheffield rhythms band. We are a samba-inspired drumming group. We play to support protests - usually climate-related, but also for other adjacent causes such as the injustices of poverty, pollution, war, discrimination, corporate greed, and more.

JOIN THE BAND

We’re a community of caring, like-minded people who have fun playing music every week in our practice sessions. We are always looking for new people to join the band. No previous experience is necessary, you don’t need your own instrument (we have spares), and we always go through things from scratch because we regularly have new people join.

GET INVOLVED

If you’ve never been to protests or done anything political before, but want to support these causes, joining the band is a safer, more accessible way to ‘do something’ that makes protests more effective and more difficult to ignore.
