Insure Our Survival - Sheffield
It was small, good, and how wonderful to meet people from different groups too. Twenty people targeted Aon at their Napier St office, on Wednesday 30th October over lunch time. A small group of Aon employees engaged with us in their car park - no cars were parked in Aon’s spaces and nobody answered the door bell even though the small group had claimed a receptionist would.
“Oil” spilled from a barrel and spread over the area, obliterating many animals in its path. “Oil” spoke, as an ancestor, regretting being burnt to destroy the world its descendants would have to inhabit. Placards and banners demanded that Aon stop enabling the fossil fuel companies creating climate chaos, and Aon was awarded a blue plaque for, in 2024, being yet to rule out brokering insurance for new fossil fuel projects. Outreach to passers-by included leafletting and discussions. Letters were sent to Aon company executives in support of this action. A video of the action can be found here
